Aster or Weed?

I sowed aster powder puff seeds one or two months ago. After waiting for many weeks, the seeds finally germinated. But since it took so long to sprout, I wonder if these are actually asters or just weed seeds that are blown into the pot. I googled for pictures of aster powder puff seedlings and did not find any similarities with this plant. Any idea what this is?

Diary of an Amateur Gardener

I started gardening a few months back. Though I've failed and killed many plants, I've learned many valuable lessons along the way.

I learned that clay soil, even when mixed with good soil, will still kill your seedlings. I've also discovered my plants grow better if I don't give it too much TLC and that under-watering plants is always better than over-watering them. Your plants will not survive if its roots had rotten due to water-logged soil.

Despite my many many failures, I've successfully grown basil, butterfly pea and pak choy!

All these positive results have definitely spurred me on to grow more plants. I then sowed Aiea morning glory and Roselle seeds at the same time and they have also sprouted so I'm really excited!

Aiea Morning Glory from Kebun Bahagia. I found ants attacking my poor seedlings!

Roselle

Gardening is such a rewarding hobby. It doesn't require a lot of your time and energy. Just don't forget to water your plants as needed and fertilise them every few weeks. As of now I'm growing 6 or 7 types of plants in my balcony. They don't take up a lot of space so it's perfectly fine even for those not staying in landed property. Beginners can start off with vegetables. You'll have higher success rate. They're easy to maintain and they mature faster.
